Most of my childhood memories revolve around the beach, where I found joy in the blue salty waves, golden sand and warming sun. Yet, my profound connection with the ocean and coastline was formed in moments of solitary contemplation. Whether reading on a cloudy day, taking aimless walks, or simply watching the waves come and go. I’ve always felt that the ocean communicates with me, understanding and guiding me through life’s currents. It was always there for me.

This series of paintings was born from a nostalgic reverie. In the painting process, echoes of the faint whispers that tried to guide me towards my true path, were heard. These whispers now resound loudly as I've learned to listen to them. The colour of the surface I chose resembles sand, which enabled me to create as carefree child painting by the shore. The colours, composition and textures are a blend of yesterday’s memories and today’s views of Portugal’s coastline.
