SUBMERSE

Since becoming an artist, I’ve learned to dive deeper into memories, emotions and stories I’ve been carrying with me for years. The more art I create, the more I learn that what I’m really doing is reconnecting with my memories of the past and rewiring them with my present. Growing up on the coast of the Mediterranean Sea, I spent almost every day on the beach. It always fascinated me that I can just sit on the warm sand and watch the waves for hours, not noticing time passing by.

‘Submerse’ was born on the coast of the Atlantic Ocean. It’s a collection that reflects the tranquillity, stillness and calmness that the ocean offers when you take in its mesmerising colours. Each painting offers an escape and an invitation to submerse yourself, dive as deep as you like, and resurface when you are ready. I used colours, brush strokes and shapes that compose abstract seascape scenes that welcome you to be immersed in their soft serenity. Take a moment to breathe, to achieve quietness, to be still.
